General information about the school or daycare year change with Sdui

What happens when the school or daycare year changes in Sdui ?
New class, course and daycare groups are automatically created for the new school or daycare year.
Your students or children will be assigned to their new classes/groups.
The accounts of the students and daycare children who were marked as "leavers" of the institution during the change process will be automatically deleted seven days after the change has been carried out. Linked parents will also be deleted if they are not linked to other children who remain at the facility.

When can I change school or daycare year in Sdui ?
The turn of the year is activated towards the end of the school or daycare year.

How can I change school or daycare year in Sdui ?
We provide you with two options:

  1. Manual change of year (recommended for primary schools and daycare centers):
    You can upgrade all classes/groups with one click. In the respective classes/groups, you can mark individual students or children as exceptions, e.g. if the class is repeated or if you switch to a parallel class/group, etc.
  2. Automatic change of year (recommended for secondary schools):
    At the automatic change of year, you upload a user list to Sdui (similar to creating new users). Sdui compares the class assignment of the students or group assignment of the children in the list with the assignment in Sdui . This means that all students receive their new class assignment and children receive their new group assignment for the new school or daycare year.

Why does the school or daycare year change have to be carried out in Sdui ?
Above all, the process of changing the year saves you manual effort and saves time. By carrying out the New Year, you bring the user administration in Sdui up to date for the new school or daycare year. New class, course and daycare groups are automatically created and the assigned people are synchronized into the groups. Accounts that are no longer required will be automatically deleted. This means you don’t have to manually delete users individually.

Please do not create your class or daycare groups for the new school year manually and do not change the classes/groups of students and children manually via the user administration.

An example: If the classes were changed manually, the students would be synchronized into the existing class group from the 2020/2021 school year. Specifically, this means that if you assign the student Max Mustermann (class 1a) to class 2a via the user management, he will automatically be synchronized into the existing class group of class 2a from this school year and can view all content and messages.

Exceptions:
Extracurricular institutions such as clubs, sports schools, etc. do not necessarily have to hold the New Year celebrations. In such a case, please contact your customer advisor so that the necessary settings can be made.
