To be able to rename a group, you have to be the admin of that group.

First open the group overview via the menu at the top right (three lines) and then click on the group that you would like to rename.

Now click on "Settings" and then on "Rename". 

A window opens in which you can enter a new name for the group. Then click on "Save changes".
