Video conferencing tips

There are some tips that you can use to improve video conferencing with Sdui Meet. We want to introduce these to you in this article.

We recommend using the Google Chrome web browser to take part in video conferences on the desktop. Experience has shown that the quality of the transmission of your screen is best here.

Use a headset to avoid feedback, echoes, or distortion. This is how the participants hear and understand you best. In addition, all participants should mute themselves and only unmute themselves when they are speaking.

Video telephony requires a lot of internet bandwidth. So make sure that your WLAN reception is sufficient ("5 bars") or use a LAN cable for a better and more stable connection. A pixelated / blurred image or distorted sound can usually be traced back to your own connection. So also make sure that not so many data-intensive services are running in the same network.

Video conferences also require a lot of computing power, which older devices can be overwhelmed with. So close other programs and tabs in your browser.

We especially recommend video conferencing with larger groups so that only the person speaking has the video broadcast. The video can be turned on and off at any time during the conference.

With the function "raise your hand" students can draw attention to themselves when they want to say something.


In the case of the moderator, which is usually the teacher, a message "XY wants to speak" appears on the screen. The teacher then has the opportunity to take the student out. He can then release his microphone and talk. As a teacher, you can recognize a message by the fact that a hand signal appears in the student's tile. The student then has to lower his hand again by clicking on the hand signal so that it disappears in his tile.
